I have a master’s degree in midwifery. As a midwife who has been working in childbirth and beyond over twenty years have a passion for supporting mother & baby dyads breastfeeding. It hasn’t been uncommon for me to spend over an hour at postpartum visits to make sure breastfeeding is going well.
Apart from seeing my midwifery clients, I have seen many postpartum clients with breastfeeding issues who have been referred to me by obstetricians or other medical care providers. That’s why I studied to become a lactation consultant to get specialized in breastfeeding and lactation. Currently, I am an International Certified Board Lactation Consultant, IBCLC.
I am a passionate and experienced lactation consultant and Licensed Practical Nurse. I have over 10 years of experience as an LPN and currently work in the Maternity Unit at St Paul’s hospital as a postpartum nurse.
I am dedicated to promoting the importance of breast feeding and committed to providing necessary education and support with breastfeeding dyads. As I am a mother of 3 girls myself, I have had my own challenges with breastfeeding and can empathize with moms that face those similar challenges. Some of my hobbies include travelling, sewing, hiking and socializing with friends and family.
The process of birthing and the body’s intelligence to produce nature’s perfect baby food is truly a miracle.
I found my calling in working with moms and families as they prepare to walk through the journey of welcoming their babies 10 years ago. Through my experience in supporting women during the birthing and the postpartum period, I have learnt that every mother’s journey is unique and special. From personal experience, I know that breastfeeding comes with it’s own challenges. My goal is to ensure that every mother feels well supported and empowered through this period.
Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, hiking and spending time with family
